Kass Patterson is a 20-year veteran classroom teacher whose passion is building early literacy skills for young children. Ms. Patterson has taught hundreds of children the joy of reading, writing, spelling and comprehending. She can also support those who find penmanship difficult due to fine motor issues. As an award-winning educator, she has helped children who struggle with the alphabetic code, demonstrate weak phonemic awareness, find spelling difficult, or do not comprehend what they read.

September 2015 - August 2018: Reading Specialist for Rocky Mountain Center for Development, LLC. Provides remediation for students of all ages with literacy concerns and dyslexia.
May 2015 - Aug 2017: Literacy Coach/Teacher Trainer for Zaner-Bloser's Superkids reading program. Provides teacher training and coaching for schools and districts utilizing Superkids.
1995-2015: Colorado Academy--Elementary Instructor (Denver, Colorado). Provided educational program for primary students in an environment favorable to learning and personal growth. Frances Newton Award for Outstanding Teaching (2005) modeling teaching excellence, exemplary service for students and colleagues; Teacher Exchange Recipient, Buenos Aires, Argentina (2010).
2008-2014: Co-Presenter for Parents as Partners--Building Early Literacy Skills Together. Presented yearly with nationally recognized LETRS trainer (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) professional teacher development/parent workshop.
2005-2009: Creator and Presenter of Phonological Awareness Workshop--provided to parents, interns and elementary educators in Denver area.
2002-2014: Colorado Academy--Instructor for Summer Programs. Created, organized and implemented a wide variety of summer enrichment programs (academic and physical) for students K-8th grade.
1996-1998: Colorado Academy--Director of Extended Day Program. Planned and executed after school activities for PreK-5th grade students and managed accounts.
1988-1989: Colorado Academy--President of Alumni Association. Developed and maintained alumni connection to school and liaison to Board of Trustees.
